What ingredients do you avoid when making your all over face and body cleanser?
We formulate for our family and friends, so there’s a few fussy ones to keep happy and lots of ingredients we are not comfortable using. Often product makers talk more about what is not in their products to distract consumers from the nasties that are in them. We don’t use any ingredient that is classed as hazardous, and that’s a high bar. Most body cleansers and body washes are non-hazardous but nearly always contain hazardous ingredients. It’s hard to believe but do your own research.
Check through our ingredient list. We prefer naturally derived, skin-friendly ingredients and use standard INCI names so you can easily do your own research. We are all about full transparency and no trickery. Rest assured, this formula contains no SLS, SLES, phosphates, parabens, phthalate, phenoxyethanol, fragrances, colours, palm oil, triclosan, synthetic preservatives or ingredients that are classed as hazardous.
Are your body cleansers suitable to use on the face?
Yes, all our body cleansers are suitable for use on the face and body. It’s a premium high quality face and body cleanser that doesn’t contain the cheap and nasty ingredients most do. It’s made with high-quality, skin-friendly and natural ingredients. And yes, you can even use it on the more delicate skin of the face and neck. The whole family will love this body cleanser that is lovingly made for all skin types, ages or genders.
Is this face and body cleanser pH balanced? And what does that even mean?
Yes, this face and body cleanser is pH balanced to 5.5. Our skin’s pH is about 5.5 too, which is slightly acidic. The pH scale is measured from 0 to 14 and indicates how acidic or alkaline a substance is.
We want to support healthy skin so it can retain moisture, maintain a strong microbiome and keep those annoying irritations away. Using pH balanced body cleansers and hair shampoo is a great way to do this.
Why don’t you make different face and body cleansers for different skin types?
We’re all unique and have different skin types. But, when you look closely at ingredient labels you’ll notice there isn’t much difference between the face and body wash formulations for dry, oily, sensitive and normal skin types. It’s excellent marketing but doesn’t really serve a practical purpose. With an excellent formula (like ours!) we don’t believe you need a body cleanser for every skin type, just a little commonsense is required. If you’re skin is really dirty or oily use a little more product. That’s all.
